On behalf of Pangandoy sa Pag-Eskwela Foundation, Inc., we extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to everyone who joined our Zumba for a Cause 2025 at Palau Hotel, San Carlos City! Your presence, your moves and your generosity made this event truly special. Every step you took tonight helps support our foundation and that's something worth celebrating! Our deepest thanks to our passionate Coach Bea Marquez for leading us with energy and joy, and to our dedicated Pangandoy volunteers, officers and staff for making this event possible through your hard work and teamwork. Who would have thought that the fascination of a young mind in kindergarten with how teachers impart knowledge and values to children would lead the path to pursuing a career? A Pangandoy-ANCOP scholar since 2016, Jacob D. Facultad, takes up Bachelor in Social Science Education at a prestigious education school, Philippine Normal University Visayas, where he performs his best as a consistent Dean's Lister for three consecutive years. On top of the assistance from Pangandoy-ANCOP, he also accepts academic commissions to gain extra income to finance his studies. The foundation has not only helped him in material aspects but has also molded him as a better person by teaching him the values of faith, discipline, and responsibility through supporting his spiritual involvement in the Youth for Christ community, instilling in him the importance of time management, and teaching him the power of gratitude. The foundation volunteers truly sparked a light of leadership to him. He serves as the legislative secretary of PNU-V Student Government. He won the Collegiate Debate championship and is a co-founder of the school's debate club, Sumpakil Debate Society. His experiences made him view the world in a different manner. As he realized, "the world maybe harsh, but there will always be those people who are ready to lend a helping hand and that is something to be grateful." This strengthened his desire to contribute to the needy as well. He is looking forward to review and pass the Licensure Examination for Teachers and be able to apply in private or public school institutions. Another thing that excites him is to be able to join various community volunteer works as he is passionate to put out the same love he has received from many to the world. His younger self in kindergarten must be proud of him. As Gabriela Mistral, an educator was the first Latin American woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, which she won in 1945, known for her passionate advocacy for education and children's rights, once said, "a dream is just a dream until you teach someone to make it a reality."

September 24, 2023, Pangandoy Alumni John Dave Bayon-on took the challenge of taking his first step on his journey as a teacher. Despite facing personal challenges and obstacles, he emerged triumphant in passing the Licensure Examination for Teachers. Battling with depression and family pressures, he prioritized his mental health, seeking the guidance of a psychiatrist to ensure he was in the right state of mind to pursue his ambitions. His study approach was characterized by a deep understanding of the subjects rather than sheer force, and he found strength in daily prayers, acknowledging the power of faith in his journey. "Yes, it's like when I said that I'm depressed and I need to consult a psychiatrist first to be okay because I told myself I won't take the board exam if I'm not well but Thank God I'm okay now." he stated. Motivated by his family, John Dave embraced the teaching field with a profound dedication to fulfilling their dreams. Their unwavering support and belief in him fueled his determination to succeed in the board exam. "My family is the reason why I entered the teaching field and passed the board exam. I dedicate my dreams to them," he said. His dream of becoming a teacher in the public sector is now within reach, and he stands poised to make a meaningful impact on the lives of his future students. Reflecting on his exam experience, John Dave recalls a memorable moment during his Prof.Ed. exam when he unexpectedly fell asleep, only to discover later that it was the highest-percentage section. This is a testament to his belief that unexpected outcomes can arise even in the face of adversity. "It's funny because I slept during my Prof.Ed. exam, I thought that I got a low grade but it was my highest grade after all, compared to my Major and Gen.Ed. That's why. indeed, expect the unexpected after the examination," he quoted. To celebrate this remarkable achievement, John Dave chose to commemorate the day of the exam results, which coincided with his birthday. The joy and elation of passing the exam made it his happiest birthday ever, a fitting celebration of his hard-earned success. "Don't pressure yourself, just be focused, have presence of mind during the exam, and pray before, during, and after the examination," the LET passer concluded. In expressing his gratitude, John Dave extends his thanks to God for the precious gift of passing the exam, acknowledging his unwavering faith. He also expresses gratitude to his family, friends, and himself, recognizing the invaluable support and resilience that carried him through this challenging journey. John Dave Bayon-on's journey to becoming a professional teacher is a testament to the power of perseverance, faith, and unwavering dedication. With his sights set on a future filled with promise and purpose, John Dave is an inspiring example of triumph over adversity and fulfilling lifelong dreams.
